Robotic jellyfish built to explore oceans

In an effort to learn more about the ocean and new things living in it and possibly map out the sea floors, a team of researchers at the Virginia Tech have developed and testing a 5 foot 7 robotic jellyfish.
The $5 million robotic jellyfish was born out of the world largest jellyfish. The tentacles of the robotic jellyfish look very much like the real tentacles of jellyfish, but built with silicone.
