What if your screens were elastic? you could literally pull, push and pinch them. Data as we know it would not be limited to a flat screen. Data would be alive.
A Dhairya Dand and Rob Hemsley of MIT's Media Lab created a new prototype which they called 'Obake'--A mythical Japanese that shape-lifts. But according them, it means an elastic 2.5D display that shape-lifts which can create mountains, rivers by pulling them out of the screen.The photos below shows their working prototype.
