Elastic touchscreen prototype lets you pinch and zoom in '2.5D'

What if your screens were elastic? you could literally pull, push and pinch them. Data as we know it would
not be limited to a flat screen. Data would be alive.
A Dhairya Dand and Rob Hemsley of MIT's Media Lab created a new prototype which they called 'Obake'--A mythical Japanese that shape-lifts. But according them, it means an elastic 2.5D display that shape-lifts which can create mountains, rivers by pulling them out of the screen.The photos below shows their working prototype.
