BBC has joined the league of high profile victims of Twitter account hijacking.
The Twitter handle for the BBC weather reports @bccweather has been hacked by hackers believed to be in support of Syria President Basher al-Assad.
--> Confriming the incident, a BBC spokeswoman said the official Twitter account for the BBC weather reports had been hacked. She, however, said BCC staff were working to restore service to the handle.
The hackers who claimed they are part of 'Syrian Elecronic Army' sent their first tweet on the @bbc weather around 13.00 on Thursday afternoon.
The hackers posted fake weather report on the @bbc weather attacking countries that are not in support of President Assad regime.
