Flying robotic Dragonfly built by Festo

What you see in the picture is  a robotic Dragonfly. It can fly forward, backward, up and down and it can even hover its wings. It is been developed by German robotic company Festo. It is called bionicOpter and, it is controlled using a smartphone---iPad, iPhone.
The company said it will unveil the device at this month Hannover Messer trade show.

Man keeps $3.5 million meteorite for 30 years without knowledge

A Spanish farmer has been keeping wealth in his farm for thirty years without knowledge. The man, Faustino Asensio Lopez used a 100kg rock to grind ham. Unknown to him, the rock is a meteorite worth $3.5 million.

According to him, he believed that the rock was a military scrap from the country civil war. So in 2011, he watched several reports on TV on meteorite sightings in the country. He discovered that the pictures of the meteorite match the one in his farm. He quickly met with Geologist Juan Carlos Gutierrez who confirmed after series of analyst that the rock is a pre-historic metallic meteorite. The fourth of such to be found in the country.
Lopez who owns the rock with his brother said,

they have already put the meteorite up for sale and said he would want the business to be made 'quietly'. As they wait patiently for buyers, they've hidden the meteorite in safe place.

Man invent GPS device to track pet

A GPS device that can help track the whereabouts of animals has been invented. The Inventor, Dave Evans, 42 said he came up with the idea after he was suspicious that one of his neighbors had been feeding his cat without his knowledge. He later discovered that the cat was gaining weight when he had eventually stopped feeding him than usual. In order to track his cat whereabouts, he decided to build the device.
When fitted onto the cat's collar, The device helped Dave to traced his cat. When the cat returned, he unplugged the device and plugged it into the computer via a USB connection. Whereupon he plotted a map on the animal's movement.

World smallest phone charger made by Devoltec

Devoltec claims its 'Fuel microUS charger' is the world smallest mobile phone charger. Launching the project on Kickstarter, the makers aim to raise $20,000 to manufacture, testing and certification of the device. So far, Kickstarter has already raised $18,000; only $2000 remaining to fund the project.
According to the makers, the fuel phone charger can charge a phone up to it seventh level. It can add additional 20 to 30 talk time or more depending on how the individual use the phone.
The phone charger when fully manufactured will cost just $25.

Tumblr, the blogging platform, is growing rapidly after it was launched six years ago.
Reports from the Next web, who have been staying up-to-date with the website 'About' page, which shows the numbers of blogs the website currently has, proves that the blogging platform currently has more than 100 million blogs. It also shows that 80.2 million blogs have been created and posted each day.Furthermore, 44.1 billion blog posts have been created till date.
Last year, Tumblr was ranked among the 9 most popular website in the U.S, with 61.3 million local visitors and 170 million worldwide visitors. The blog posts on the website last year accounts for 36.6 million.

Father turned his own son to the Police for fraud

Those of you with 'sharp memory' would recall sometime last month when I wrote on this blog that a 5 year old Bristol boy spent 1700 pounds on iTunes. A similar story came up recently. This time, Apple did not refund the money and, this made the father of the boy to call Apple bluff.
A 13 year old Bristol boy, Cameron, thought that the advertised free games would not cost a dime to download, with the idea in mind, he downloaded multiple games from Apple iTunes store. Unknown to him, he was being charge and, each game cost 77.98 British pounds.
A few days later, the father, Doug, a Policeman was shocked when his credit card company phoned to tell him that his own teenage son had spent 3700 British pounds on games. The father asked Apple to refund the money but, Apple refused. So, he took in the advice the credit card company gave him and reported his son's act to the Action Fraudline.
He did it only to embarrass Apple for charging child games. He believed his son has been duped.
Doug turned his to the police because he wanted to have a crime reference number if there is any possibility that Apple would refund his credit card payments.
Cameron on the other hand said he thought the games were free which was why he kept on downloading. Furthermore, the family said they were unaware that he was being charge for downloading the game.

18 year old student burgle into woman house to access Facebook

To some people, Facebook is everything to them. They could give up not accessing the social network in a day. As such, they do all manner of things to stay updated on the social network.
A certain woman in Anthens, Ga said she was surprised when she came home and found an 18 year old student of Georgia University accessing Facebook in her OWN house. Report from the police proves that the blonde lady was having an IM chat with one of her friend.
However, the blonde lady later apologized to the lady of the house and left the house, leaving her Facebook page open on the laptop.
Funny enough, it turned comedy when she was accused of urinating on the couch.

New suit by Mark and Spencer stops body odour

We all know for sure that body odour can be so embarrassing. It makes people to distance themselves from you;this you don't like. If you are a victim, you don't have to worry anymore, a new suit has been made to help you stop that body odour.
The suit was introduced by Mark and Spencer, a major British retailer. The patches under the arm uses odegon deoTags to suck up the body odour and then 'kill' them to avoid offensive smell.
The suit cost 176 British pounds.

You can now use animated gif as Google+ profile picture

Google made it known to us on Monday afternoon that users of its social network, Google+ can now use animated gifs as their profile picture. It also added that Google+ users can view the animated profile on their mobile just the same way it would on desktop.

In my opinion, I would never upload animated gif as Google+ profile picture.

Facebook brings free mobile call to UK users

One month ago, Facebook added a new feature that allowed users of the social network in the U.S  and Canada to call their friends for free with the Facebook mobile voice call. The mobile voice call has come to the UK.
Those  living in the UK can call their friends who are active on the social network for free by using the Facebook mobile call through the Facebook messenger app for iPad and iPhone. To make free calls, you just have to navigate to your friend profile, click on contact info and hit the 'free call' button.

Samsung partners with Usain Bolt

Samsung has teamed up with fastest man on the face of the planet, Usain Bolt to promote its new NX300 camera which will go on sale later this month in John Lewis and Dixons.
The partnership will see Samsung working with Usain to be bring kit to less priviledge children.
Concerning the NX300, Samsung said the camera is superfast and makes the photographer to be part of the front-row action. The NX300 was first showed off in CES 2013 and will start at 599 British pounds.

Have ever thought that you could one day to fly a helicopter just by using your own 'energy' to lift the aircraft? I know for sure you wouldn't dare. But a group of college dudes believes they can make it possible. They are building the first human-powered helicopter.
The group who are student of Middle Georgia State College have been building prototypes of their 'human-powered' helicopter for two years now.
These guys made me remember when I built a similar one. Although my model never took-off because the air from the rotor blades wasn't sufficient enough to lift my 'mini aircraft'. I gave up the idea when no one encourage me. I really wish these guys good!

Due to the attack, South Korea security experts have come out to say that Pyongyang has been training 'cyber warriors' to fight North Korea as cyberspace is the new battleground for the two Asian countries.
South Korea has yet not find the culprit behind Wednesday cyberattack, The country is unable to trace who is behind it. This 'unfind misery' made South Korea to point fingers at both North Korea and China that they are behind it.
Concerning China, the IP address that was believed to be from China by South Korea regulators, which made South Korea to point China, is the IP used by one of the affected Bank.

Lenovo to launch S920 next month

Early next month Lenovo will launch its latest smartphone, the S920 in China. The S920 was seen at Lenovo Chinese website, but it is unavailable for now.
The S920 is the fastest and only smartphone made by the company that runs the latest version of Android 4.2 jellybean. The smartphone will come with 1GB RAM, 2-megapixel front camera, micro SD slot, 8-megapixel camera and a 2,250 mAh battery.

A West Virginia lawyer, Gary G. Howell is seeking ban on Google Glass while driving. He said Google Glass could pose great danger to the individual wearing it while driving. How can you drive and watch a youtube video at the same time? young drivers especially, will be in great danger.
Over the years, there have been numerous cases of accident caused by texting and driving. With Google Glass, accident rate will increase.
If , for instance, Howell request his enact, the offender will have to pay hefty sum. Could pay $100 for the first offense and so on.

Billboard turns air into clean drinking water

Over there in Peru, a billboard is producing clean drinking water for the community by turning air into water.
The structure was mounted by a newly established University in the region and an advertising agency. The billboard was to  create awareness that a new university has been established but, the researchers at the university teaming up with the advertising agency decided to do something really good that could solve problems through technology and engineering. They made a billboard that can provide clean water to whomever need it.
The panel extract water from the humidity in the air, thereby turning the air into clean drinking water. Water is so difficult to come by in Bujama--- the area where the billboard is mounted, because of low rain fall. With the billboard as a source of drinking water, the villagers can now have accessed to clean drinking water.
So far, the billboard has been producing 9000 liters of clean water.

Developer puts developers in danger and gets fired

People should always mind their business. Because some group of men were talking about sex, doesn't give you the right to judge them. Your job could be terminated.

At the Python technology conference held last week, Andria Richard said she was disturbed by all that the two men talked about. She sent out a tweet 'not cool.. Two developers at Python conference talking about forking repo in a sexual way'' she wrote. Afterwhich the two men were escorted out of the conference.
One of the developer with Playhaven was sacked as a result of the photo and tweet Richard posted.
However, her four fingers pointed back at her. The company she worked for sacked her after seeing that her manner in handling the matter was 'unresponsible' and could put the company in danger.
Furthermore, a Reddit group has began a fund to raise money for the developer who was fired.

Just a month after MTN was fined for failing to adhere to ban on promotion and lotteries on the network, the Nigerian Communication Communication, NCC has again fined MTN Nigeria N90m. This time MTN was fined for inability to provide quality network service to its subscribers.
The fine came as NCC was rolling out the mobile number portability across the country. The mobile number portability lets a phone user in Nigeria to retain his/her mobile number when changing from one network to another.

But today, South Korea regulators are in agreement that the IP address is not from China.
South Korea regulators have many nuts to crack. The IP address that was believed to be from China is one of the affected bank IP address. Although they are sure that the cyberattack came from oversee.
Furthermore, the malware used has been identified by researchers at Vendor Sophos as 'DarkSeoul'.

This is so because the app let's you know how to program the emergency button on the back of case. Your iPhone connect to 'Sleeve' via bluetooth.
Price of the Thuraya Satsleeve starts at $499 and will be available next month. For now, Satsleeve does not support iPhone 5.

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop tosses iPhone to the floor on live TV

The first time I read the news, I was shocked. Questions keep on moving round my brain. Was it a planned act? or he hates Apple products?
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop did something weird on live TV this week. In an interview on Finnish TV, the Nokia CEO took the interviewer iPhone and threw it on the studio floor.
What happened was that the interviewer kept on asking Stephen Elop about the Nokia 928, in response the Nokia CEO said he knew nothing about it since the smartphone hasn't yet been announced. Rather he tried to show-off the 620.
Along the line, the interview brought out his iPhone and said doesn't need it anymore but preferred the Nokia 928. Stephen Elop offered him a helping hand. He took the iPhone from the interviewer and threw it on the floor. Despite the act, the interviewer still asked him that he want the 928. Finally, he points to his iPhone and ask the Nokia CEO to change it. Of course, he agreed but doesn't reveal which phone to give the interviewer.

After months of delay, the new Blackberry 10 has finally come to the U.S. The Blackberry 10 was launched by AT&T. Customers can now have their precious Blackberry 10 on AT&T at $200 for a 2-year contract.
The Blackberry was launched on January 30, and has since been available in Canada, UK but, not in the U.S.
With the launched, AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to official offer the Blackberry 10 to the Public.
