MICROSOFT SKYPE TRAFFIC GROWS 44 PERCENT

Microsoft acquired Skype for $1.1 billion last year and, it starting to make headlines in international phone traffic scene.
The graph above shows that Skype broke records in 2012 by making its call equal to one-third of global phone traffic.
From the TeleGeography---telecoms market research firm---said Skype increased in 2012 by 5 percent to 490 billion minutes. TeleGeography analyst Stephan Beckert said this amount of Skype traffic will make  some carriers fear for their wallets in the coming years.
